Dilemma of Extensive Multi-Gate Processes

A wide range of process models are available for developing large-scale IT projects. Such models almost always have defined quality assurance and controlling measures, known as “gates”. In reality, however, gates often have a different effect from that intended.

mm1 has analyzed this aspect in a white paper, which is available as a download. The analysis identifies the side-effects of multi-gate processes, and uses them as a basis to produce specific recommendations for action. In addition, the analysis takes into account and describes alternatives, such as agile methods, as well as more efficient ways of utilizing multi-gate processes.

This white paper was the basis for an article, which was published in the September issue of the journal "itmanagement". You can find the original text of this print publication here.
