mm1 Consulting & Management at the 2010 E-Health Forum
Design Thinking for the Healthcare Sector
mm1 Consulting & Management is to present its "design thinking for healthcare" concept at the 2010 Global E-Health Forum in Hamburg, Germany on October 25 and 26. The Global E-Health Forum focuses on the contribution that information and communication technologies can make to the future of healthcare. Volker Scholz, Managing Partner of mm1 Consulting & Management, says, "We are looking forward to presenting our innovative approach to the notable guests at the Forum, and thus driving the development of customer-centered products and services in the healthcare sector."
The healthcare sector is facing major challenges worldwide, such as demographic change, an increasing number of chronic diseases, costly products and treatments, as well as limited budgets. In view of this scenario, set patterns of thinking must be discarded, and innovative, efficient solutions developed in their place. Applying design thinking to issues in the healthcare sector will open up such opportunities – in hospitals and the medical technology field, for example. This will enable improved process efficiency, patient satisfaction and user-friendly medical equipment.
"Other industries and manufacturers have shown that true innovations can bring lasting change to the whole market. The key is to challenge familiar perceptions and, instead, to look systematically at what customers actually want and need," says Laurenz Kirchner, Innovation and Product Superiority Expert at mm1. To achieve this, mm1 Consulting & Management relies on interdisciplinary development teams and best practices, in addition to onsite analyses of the as-is situation and potential for improvement.
